Greener Data Exchange ITW

Greener Data Exchange Recap: Powering Change, Conversation and Community

The Greener Data Exchange returned during International Telecoms Week with an evening dedicated to connection, collaboration and the future of sustainable digital infrastructure.

Hosted at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, the event brought together leaders from across data centers, telecom, cloud, energy, sustainability and AI for a celebration of Greener Data, Volume Three and the growing community behind the Greener Data movement.

From signed books and signature greener martinis to meaningful conversations overlooking the Potomac, the evening captured what Greener Data has always been about: bringing the digital infrastructure industry together to explore how we can build a more connected, responsible and sustainable future.

Bringing the Greener Data Community Together

The Greener Data Exchange has become a meaningful gathering point for authors, partners, clients, readers and industry peers who are committed to advancing sustainability across digital infrastructure.

This year’s event came at a particularly important moment. As AI accelerates demand for data centers, power, connectivity and compute, the industry is facing new questions around energy availability, climate accountability, community engagement and long-term infrastructure development.

The Exchange created space for those conversations to happen in a more personal and collaborative way. Guests stepped away from the packed pace of ITW meetings and gathered for an evening focused on ideas, connection and shared responsibility.

Celebrating Greener Data, Volume Three

A major highlight of the evening was celebrating the launch of Greener Data, Volume Three, which was released on Earth Day 2026.

The latest volume features insights from more than 75 voices across the global digital infrastructure ecosystem. Together, these contributors explore topics including AI, energy, innovation, sustainability, data center development, climate accountability, community impact and the evolving future of digital infrastructure.

As the industry continues to grow and adapt, Greener Data, Volume Three reflects both the complexity of the moment and the opportunity ahead. The book brings together real perspectives from the people working directly within the systems, companies and communities shaping the next era of digital infrastructure.

Signed by Greener Data Authors

This year’s Greener Data Exchange also gave guests the opportunity to take home something special: signed copies of Greener Data, Volume Three.

Several Greener Data authors were in attendance to sign books, meet readers and share more about the ideas behind their chapters. The author signing added a personal and memorable element to the evening, giving guests a chance to connect directly with some of the voices featured in the book.

It was a reminder that Greener Data is more than a publication. It is a growing community of leaders, innovators, advocates and changemakers working together to move the conversation forward.

Supporting Telecom Sans Frontières

In addition to celebrating the book, the event also included an opportunity to support Telecom Sans Frontières, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency telecommunications and connectivity support in crisis zones around the world.

Guests were invited to take home a complimentary copy of Greener Data, Volume Three and, if they wished, make a donation in support of TSF’s mission.

The activation connected the evening back to one of the most important purposes of digital infrastructure: keeping people connected when it matters most.

Capturing Voices Through the Greener Data Hotline

One of the most memorable activations of the evening was the Greener Data Hotline.

Recordable phones were placed throughout the event space, inviting guests to share their thoughts on the future of greener digital infrastructure. From the biggest sustainability challenges facing the industry to the innovations giving them hope, attendees had the opportunity to add their voices to the conversation in a fun and interactive way.

The hotline captured the spirit of the Exchange: candid, thoughtful and community-driven. These reflections will help continue the Greener Data conversation beyond the event itself.

Powering Change, City by City

The Greener Data Exchange is also part of a larger Greener Data book tour, bringing the conversation to key industry events and cities around the world.

Each stop includes a different Greener Data activation, from book signings and community gatherings to creative experiences designed to spark dialogue around sustainability, AI and the future of digital infrastructure.

The goal is to keep the conversation moving — city by city, event by event and voice by voice.

Because the future of greener data will not be shaped in one room or by one organization. It will be shaped by the collective efforts of the people building, powering and reimagining the infrastructure behind our increasingly digital world.

Thank You to the Greener Data Community

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Greener Data Exchange, contributed to Greener Data, Volume Three, signed copies, picked up a book, donated to Telecom Sans Frontières, shared a message through the Greener Data Hotline or simply stopped by to be part of the conversation.

The digital infrastructure industry is moving quickly, and the challenges ahead are significant. But events like the Greener Data Exchange show that this community is not only paying attention. It is showing up, asking better questions and looking for ways to move forward together.

That is what Greener Data is all about.

Greener Data, Volume Three is now available on Amazon in print, Kindle and audiobook formats.
