Robert Bunger is the innovation product owner within the CTO office at Schneider Electric. In 25 years at Schneider Electric, Rob has held management positions in customer service, technical sales, offer management, business development and across key industry associations - often being at the forefront of technological advances within the organization. For example, Rob has championed Open Compute Project (OCP) principles within Schneider Electric, helping to develop new OCP-Ready™ solutions for the data centers of the future, including Open rack and liquid cooling architectures. Furthermore, Rob has been at the cutting-edge of data center sector-related research, helping to establish the industry’s first environmental sustainability framework, which includes a set of 23 standardized metrics to help operators reduce their environmental impact. More recently, Rob has contributed to the development of new tools and research reports that have enabled enterprise operators to fully quantify, model and develop strategies to address Scope 3 emissions. During his tenures with APC™, formerly known as American Power Conversion, and Schneider Electric, Rob has lived and worked in the US, Europe, and China. Prior to joining APC™, he was a commissioned officer in the US Navy Submarine force, and has achieved a BS in Computer Science from the US Naval Academy, alongside an MS EE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
