Katherine (Katie) Schwind is a sustainability professional dedicated to accelerating the clean energy transition. As Sustainability Manager in Grid Technologies at Siemens Energy, she supports customers worldwide in decarbonizing grid infrastructure and advancing sustainability performance. Her work focuses on collaboratively identifying and actualizing sustainability enhancement opportunities into grid products and projects. Motivated by the momentum of the energy transition, Katie is passionate about enabling practical, scalable solutions that make the world’s energy systems cleaner, more resilient, and more equitable.
Katie’s career started in Hawai’i supporting community-based projects and non-profit development, and later she transitioned into renewable energy development and community engagement. Bringing this experience into her position in an international corporation, allows her to bridge local impact with global transformation.
She holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Resource Management from the Technical University of Munich, and a Bachelor of Arts in Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development from the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo.
