Karim Shaikh is the Chief Technology Officer at Cato Digital, where he drives patented hardware and software innovations in software-defined power to orchestrate data center power infrastructure. His work at Cato helps data centers achieve sustainability by tapping into stranded power capacity and maximizing utilization.
With a career spanning 30 years, Karim has a strong foundation in product management and engineering. His expertise spans across startups and publicly traded companies reflecting a diverse experience across a number of domains. While he enjoys getting into the technical guts of scalable and reliable technology products, Karim is also passionate about building high-performance teams by simplifying people and process interactions.
Karim is engaged in academia as a part-time faculty member in Carnegie Mellon University's Software Management program where he empowers students to adopt a futures-based approach to product development, combining machine learning and software architecture with design thinking and futures studies.
When he’s not involved in all this, Karim likes to travel and immerse himself in nature, history and culture.
